Office of the Clean City's Adopt-A-Block Program Partners With the District Department of Transportation's Urban Forestry Adopt-A-Tree Program

Adopt-A-Block and Adopt-A-Tree parternship

The Office of the Clean City is partnering with the District Department of Transportation’s Urban Forestry Administration adopt-a-tree program in conjunction with the adopt-a-block program. Adoptees, both current and future, have the chance to utilize this program by adopting trees in their adopted area. Once adopted, DDOT will deliver a free watering ring for each tree adopted. Adoptees will agree to water the tree(s) weekly for a two year period. Urban Forestry is launching a spring campaign that will include our adopt-a-block program in it. In return, Clean City will promote the adopt-a-tree program.

In an adopted area, there may be young trees that have been planted. If the tree has a tag with a QR code on it, you can simply use your smart phone to scan the code and fill out a few short questions to adopt the tree or adopt online, by phone and by mail.
